Seaside for Mother's Day

What a blast we had at Seaside this past weekend -- it was so relaxing! The weather was good and the house we rented was wonderful. Hannah really enjoyed crunching on the crab shells, but wasn't so sure about getting her feet wet. She loved being able to run, run, run and play "chase". She sure is growing! We look forward to taking another visit again, but were all glad to be home in our beds...

New Haircut

So I finally did it, I cut her bangs. She has mastered the goofiest faces. This first look is similar to the one I get if I ask her to do something that she's not into. She likes her milk too.

Easter on the Farm

Here are pictures from our Easter on the farm. We dyed eggs, saw the local "wildlife" and Hannah had a great time searching for the eggs on Easter morning. Lucky her, all her eggs had a $1 bill inside!

Pig Tails!

I've finally attempted "doing" Hannah's hair. The results are adorable! Thanks to the movie for keeping her distracted long enough to let me get those pig tails in...

Easter Egg Hunt 2007

We had an Easter Egg Hunt this past weekend with friends and family from my side. It was so fun to see the girls dressed up and they had a blast looking for all their treats. Both girls made out like bandits! Thank you to everyone who came to share this day with us, and for bringing all the food and goodies! It was a great day.

Spring is Here!

Ribbit! Ribbit!

When we first moved into our house, we were surprised to find that we would have a nightly seranade of frogs singing us to sleep. The frogs continued through spring and summer, only breaking for the scattered rain showers. Somehow comforting, the frogs have returned already this spring and it's a welcome sound. Thinking that the frogs lived in the wetlands, I had this idea of them being brown, lumpy and dirty. You can imagine my surprise when Ryan caught one in our yard (after seeing several hopping around!). These frogs are beautiful and bring to mind something you would more likely find in the Amazon. Hannah loved seeing the frog and she is able to understand when she was looking at. Making ribbit noises to him and watching him spring all around the fish bowl. Froggy was returned to his home but not before snapping a few pics!

All is well...

We have had a busy couple of weeks! With Ryan gone, we stayed busy with a visit to the Children's Museum, swimming, church and visits with Nana. Hannah is currently enrolled in swim lessons and a little less sure of the water this time around. She's also been heavily teething and has produced 6 teeth in the past 2 weeks! It was a little tiresome for all of us, but hopefully with all these teeth above the surface, the worse is behind us -- for now. We are gearing up for Easter and really looking forward to the Egg Hunt with cousin Aiden and BFF Kylie. Hannah can't wait to wear her new Easter dress.

It's a Snow Day!

We have been getting snow flurries off and on all day. We ran outside for a few family pics. We woke up to snow covered yards and cars, but the streets are fine. We just witnessed intense hail, followed by gigantic snowflakes. I can't believe it's nearly March and we're seeing snow. Ryan's off to Tahoe tomorrow and our snow certainly doesn't compare to what they are seeing (6 ft in the past 2 days).

Hannah is sick =(

Hannah has had a triple-digit fever (topping at 103.7) since Thursday. She has been getting better over the weekend, and seems to be ok today. I took her to the doctor this morning (Mon.) and turns out she has a virus called Roseola. Apparently it's a typical childhood illness and can't be prevented. She's been pretty miserable and cranky, but her appetite is finally starting to return. To top it off, she's been teething really hard and has 2 new teeth! We think there are also a couple more just under the surface, but I'm hoping she can get a break before she has to suffer through those right away. I've never seen her so upset with the pain! She actually hits her mouth and cheek area and just SCREAMS! Poor girl.

Hannah is 14 months!

Hannah is growing so fast! She's begun using a fork and spoon for most meals and although some meals can be PAINFULLY slow and messy, she's really enjoying this new challenge. I'm wondering if she eats more just for the practice. She can eat as much as I do. Hannah is also learning some new signs, she's learned 'happy' and 'sooo sad'. Her vocabulary continues to grow and we are really having to watch what we say around her as she's really turned into a copycat.

She's VERY silly and starting to develop those quirky little "kid needs" -- especially at bed time. She won't be happy in her crib until she has both her teddy bears, her baby doll, her stuffed Elmo AND "Staas", her turtle nightlight with star constellation in his shell. All these items MUST be within arms reach.
