Hannah on Horseback

Here's a short video of her ride on Dan.

A horse named Dan

Ryan's cousin Stacey also lives in Clayton and owns 2 horses. Her largest horse, a Suffolk Punch breed draft horse, is named Dan and was super friendly. He's so big, as you can see in the photos -- standing about 8ft tall (to the top of his ears).

Hannah got to feed him carrots and even go for a little ride. We were hesitant for her thinking that once she got up close to him, she would be too scared to ride, but she hoped up there without a second thought and was a total natural! We're wondering what we are in for as she gets older....but are excited for her to be able to have these experiences!

On the Farm

We spent a long weekend in Clayton on the farm. It was beautifully warm, hoovering in the mid- to upper-70's. I have a sunburn to prove it. Hannah had an absolute blast! We spotted deer several times each day and got to see many farm animals. Grandma Chris even bought her a Power Wheels!

Father's Day weekend

Happy Father's Day to Ryan -- the BEST daddy in the world. Based on one of Ryan's favorite YouTube videos, the kids surprised him with some special tees.

Mmmm...food...

Jack is starting to eat solids! The doctor thinks it may assist with reflux, but also thinks it's a good time to start. (We also started Hannah at 4mos.) Jack REALLY likes food. He fusses if I take too long to give him the next bite. He's only had it twice!

Cousin Ezra

Auntie Kristin and my nephew Ezra came for a visit and we got some pics of the babies together. Ezra is 6 weeks older than Jack but they seem about the same length. Hopefully Jack will start bulking up a little now that his reflux seems to be in check... The boys really enjoyed seeing each other and kept reaching out and holding each others hands. They seemed really relaxed.

Party at the Little Gym

Hannah got to go to a birthday party at the Little Gym for her friends Trevor and Trilby. The kids all had a blast running and jumping around. Hannah really loved trying out the parallel bars. I can't beleive her bravery sometimes.

Hiking...

One would think a 2 1/2 year old would love the opportunity to run through the trails in an established forested park...not so much the case with Hannah this time. She mostly preferred to be riding on daddy's shoulders than do any hiking of her own. We went to an interpretive trail up on Mt Rainier. It was a nice place with very well marked flora & fauna. We all learned something, and the great thing is that it wasn't far from home.

The elusive Hot Day

Some days are in the 80's, some in the 50's...you'd think it was October around here most days. We do run outside at first indication of blue sky. Hannah loves her new bounce house...thanks to Uncle Sam and the stimulus check!

Where does the time go?!

We've been trying to make the best of this rainy intro to Summer, but it's making us all a little stir-crazy being cooped up in the house all the time. We did manage to take advantage of a good warm day here and there, and also tough out the drizzle on other days (like the highly covered lowest of the low tide...).

Jack is 4 months old and had a regular appt last week. He is steady and strong, 14.3lbs and 25.25" long. He has been diagnosed with acid reflux with mild symptoms (short, short sleep and 1-2oz eating habits). He is currently taking a prescription of Zantac 2x daily and it has made such a dramatic improvement - not only in his sleep, but the overall contentment of the family! I wish we would have thought to have it diagnosed sooner, but there wasn't the obvious vomit and spit-up issues. Jack has been sleeping about 10-11hrs through the night with single night wakings...! Can you believe it????
